Cornflakes are fattening. There is a myth that corn flakes food is one of the lowest in calories. But research found that regular consumption of corn flakes actually fosters weight gain. Corn Flakes are a high hypoglycemic carbohydrate, spike blood sugar level drastically, which promote fat storage in the body. Each cup of corn flakes (approx. 25 grams) contains approx. 95 calories, in which 21.7 grams comes from carbohydrates and only 1.7 grams of protein and low fiber content .Due to its low protein content, it will not keep you full for long. Some breakfast cereal ads show that corn flakes help you lose weight
but the fact is that corn flakes is low in fat, but the high sugar content of it promotes fat storage. Especially most of the corn flake products on the market are cooked in vegetable oil, glazed in sugar syrup or contain additives.
Add rolled oats,oat bran, steel cut oats are most nutritious one ( if you have time to cook it, because it takes longer time to cook), all bran cereal.
Don't buy the Bran with raisins. These raisins are coated with sugar. Buy the plan multigrain one and make it sweetened with natural sweetness of fruits.
