Simple life style changes can stop millions of deadly diseases like Cancer, Heart disease and Diabetes.
About a third of all common cancers in the United States, China and Britain are possible to prevent each year if people eat healthier food, drink less alcohol and exercised more according to the health experts.
World Health Organisation (WHO) recommendations, which say regular physical activity can prevent an estimated 21 to 25 percent of breast and colon cancers, 27 percent of diabetes cases and 30 percent of heart disease cases worldwide
.
World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) suggest that making simple lifestyle changes could prevent some 40 percent of breast cancers alone in Britain and the United States, as well as tens of thousands of colon, stomach and prostate cancers.
The WHO says adults should do at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise a week.
This could be done by walking for 30 minutes five times per week.
Go to work by cycling every day.
Park the car as far as possible from the office or mall entrance.
Try to avoid shopping cart and carry your shopping bags to the car as much as possible.
Try to walk by at walking distance place.
At work choose the washrooms far away from your desk if it is possible.
Try to finish your lunch quickly at work and utilise your break time by taking a round around the building.
Take stairs where ever you go instead of elevator or escalator.
There is no magic stick to cure all forms of cancer, but we have the opportunity to protect us from developing cancer by simple awareness, wherever possible.
Make Every Step Count as a physical activity, such as take walking the kids to school or grocery shopping instead of car.
By taking brisk walks at lunch, parking your car further from store entrances or walking around the block before you check the mailbox, by daily average you’ll hit 10,000 steps a day without knowing. Up to 10,000 steps a day, this is about 5 miles.
