Blood test for Iron deficiency Anemia |
Sometimes you
may not notice the symptoms of anemia, because it develops slowly and the
symptoms may be mild.
So if you have the following symptoms, asks your doctor
to send you for blood test, before your anemia gets worse.
Symptoms of Iron Deficiency Anemia:

Fatigued |

Headache |
- Feel fatigued and get tired more easily.
- Feel dizzy and lethargic.
- Have headaches.
- Pale skin color
- Pale and brittle nails.
- Palpitation or chest discomfort
- Feel faint like feeling
- Sore or inflamed tongue
- Feel cold
- Cold palms and the bottom part of feet
- Restlessness in legs
- Feel shortness of breath.
- Have trouble concentrating.
- Pica (craving of unusual inedible things
like clay, grout etc.)
- Pale looking stool.

Babies and
small children with anemia may:
- Be cranky.
- Feeling Hard to concentrate.
- Poor immunity
- Grow more slowly than normal.
- Develop skills, such as walking and
talking, later than normal.
Iron deficiency has become more common with the rise of obesity that more and more people are in need of iron supplements, including children.
