Defination and Causes of Iron Deficiency Anemia

Iron-deficiency anemia is common and can easily be treated.
Anemia is a condition when the number of red blood cell counts becomes lower in the blood than normal of a person.
Anemia can occur for any reasons such as lack of iron in the body or lack of hemoglobin in blood.
Iron deficiency anemia occurs due to low levels of Iron in the body, body lacks enough Iron which it needs to build healthy red blood cells.
Iron deficiency anemia causes the loss of hemoglobin in red blood cell.
Hemoglobin binds oxygen with the help of Iron and carries oxygen to all over the body.
Oxygen is crucial in the body because oxygen is used by the body to break glucose and release energy that our body needs to perform the day to day activity.
Cause:
Iron deficiency anemia can occur for many reasons:
1. Blood loss:
A) Due to heavy menstrual bleeding in women.
B) Internal hemorrhage inside the body, by problems such as ulcers, hemorrhoids, or cancer, can also happen with regular aspirin use. Bleeding inside the body is the most common cause of iron deficiency anemia in men and in women after menopause.
2. Diet which doesn’t have enough Iron.
3. An inability to absorb enough iron from food.
4. Poor nutrition.

How Vegetarians and Vegans can improve Iron absorbtion


Iron is an absolute requirement for most forms of life, including humans, plants and animals all use iron.
Human body can’t produce iron so they are dependent on food source for that important element.
 Iron can be found in a wide variety of food sources.
But the challenge is that the Iron( known as non-heme) which comes from plant source is not absorbed in body properly but on the other hand the form of Iron( known as heme) which comes from animal source is absorbed easily in the human body.
So the people who eat meat can fulfill their Iron need very easily but the vegetarian may have the risk of Low Iron store.
But there is always a solution for every challenge, so vegetarians don’t need to be worried, just need to be smart eater.
 Vitamin C significantly improves the ability to absorb iron from plant food.
So if you are vegetarian add Vitamin C while you are eating your vegetables which contain iron.
Such as squeeze lemon in spinach salad or steamed spinach or add orange pieces in salad green.
But some vegetables have both Iron and Vitamin C in them.
So consume them such as:
Potatoes with skin, broccoli, asparagus, tomatoes and dark-green leafy vegetables like kale and bok choy,
boston and bibb types lettuce.
And fruits which contain both Iron and Vitamin C such as:
Strawberries, watermelon

What are restless leg syndrome symptoms?
Do you feel an aching, itching or tickling in the muscles of legs or sometimes in arms or torso while you are resting, sitting on a place for a long or watching TV.
           You feel itchy but can't scratch or feel urge to move. 
Feel like something crawling on you or sometimes numbness.
What is restless leg syndrome ?
If you have any one of that above mentioned problem then you are most probably suffering from RLS.
Which is known as Restless Leg Syndrome. It is a neurological disorder.
Research shows that the symptom worse in the evening and early in the night as a result person who is suffering, get late at work, feel drowsy while working or driving.
 Restless  leg syndrome causes?            
If you are having any one of the above mentioned syndrome then you are Iron deficient.
             All of your organs in the body is made up with cells,so as nerves and muscles. Cells needs oxygen to stay alive. 
 when the cells of your nerves lacks oxygen then you feel those odd sensation mentioned above to your Legs or Arms or Torso due to fatigue,because without oxygen cells can't produce energy.
              Iron is a mineral which enables the transportation of oxygen to the cells.
 Iron is responsible in the production of hemoglobin, a protein found in red blood cells that transports oxygen to all parts of your body.
        Iron enables hemoglobin to bind with oxygen which is delivered to the cells. 
      Human body can't produce Iron itself, it is dependent on food to get this essential mineral.

 So make sure that you are consuming sufficient amount of from daily diet.       
A food item that supplies 20% or more of the daily intake value of iron can be considered a very good source of this element.

Apple smoothie for stomach ache with a pack of nutrtion


This smoothie helps relieve pain due to upset stomach, nausea or queasy feelings in the stomach.
The ginger is the key ingredient in this smoothie, so don’t skip it.
You can drink this everyday to increase your metabolism.
 Ingredients:
  •     1 apple, peeled, cored, and sliced
  •     1/2 lemon, juiced
  •     1/2 cup filtered water
  •     1/2 cup ice
  •     1” piece of fresh ginger peeled and crushed.

My blender
Method:
  • Put apple pieces and ginger in a blender. Grind them and then blend until smooth.
  • Add lemon juice and water in that and blend again until mixed well.
  • Add ice cubes and crush the cubes with the help of crusher option in the blender.
  • Give a quick swirl and enjoy.
Note: If your blender doesn’t have crusher option crush the ice cubes and then add in the mixture otherwise you will end up with broken blade of your blender.
My Oster BVC07-Z blender has that crusher button so I add direct ice cubes.
 I love my blender because I use it everyday when I make smoothie for my son with frozen berry mix. 
I prefer to make smoothie with frozen berries because it taste good and very easy to use, as it already is washed so I can save time.
And frozen fruits are money saver.
